Lecture: Into the Great Wide Open? The Potential Promise and Perils of Climate Geoengineering (Wil Burns)

"Recent analyses assert that by 2100, greenhouse gas reduction pledges made to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will still allow temperature increases of 2.7-3.5° C. This could have disastrous consequences for human institutions and natural ecosystems. As a result, increasing attention is being devoted to approaches once considered “forbidden territory.” This presentation will assess both potential benefits of climate geoengineering and possible negative impacts."
