EN "The Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) has an interdisciplinary team of scientists commissioned, to assamble the current state of knowledge on climate engineering. As a result is given, along with six special studies of the natural sciences, law, economics, politics, social sciences and ethics, an integrative overall report as a joint effort of all authors. The Kiel Earth Institute as an involved institution has coordinated scientists and serves as editor of the findings. With its broad interdisciplinary approach, the study is the most comprehensive presentation of knowledge and an assessment of climate engineering. The political opinion forming and decision-making process and the discussion about climate engineering in public so that an integrated and scientific information base is made available."

DE "Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) hat ein interdisziplinäres Wissenschaftlerteambeauftragt, den derzeitigen Kenntnisstand zu Climate Engineering zusammenzutragen. Als Ergebnis liegt nun, neben sechs Fachstudien aus den Natur-, Rechts-, Wirtschafts- Politik,Gesellschaftswissenschaften sowie der Ethik, ein integrativer Gesamtbericht als Gemeinschaftswerk aller Autoren vor. Das Kiel Earth Institute hat als eine der beteiligten Einrichtungen die Zusammenarbeit der Wissenschaftler koordiniert und fungiert als Herausgeber der Studienergebnisse. Mit ihrem breiten interdisziplinären Ansatz stellt die Studie die bislang umfassendste Darstellung des Wissensstandes und eine Bewertung von Climate Engineering dar. Bipartisan Policy - Task Force On Climate Remediation Research: Geoengineering: A National Strategic Plan for Research on the Potential Effectiveness, Feasibility, and Consequences of Climate Remediation Technologies

Leading experts on climate change science and technology comprising the Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) Task Force on Climate Remediation Research today released a report calling for a coordinated federal research program to explore the potential effectiveness, feasibility, and consequences of climate remediation technologies.

"This report presents the conclusions of the Task Force on Climate Remediation Research, which was convened
by the nonprofit Bipartisan Policy Center in March 2010 to develop recommendations for the U.S. government
concerning geoengineering research and oversight policy. Participants included leaders from the scientific,
science policy, foreign policy, national security, legal, and environmental communities who together brought a wide
range of perspectives and expertise to the task force."
